Chassidic DevelopmentIf no place is empty of Him, the difficulty is not how G-d reaches the world. The difficulty is how anything other than G-d could seem to be there at all.
Seder hishtalshelut — the ordered chain of unfolding — is the classical answer, and it is worth stating what kind of answer it is. It is not a map of places. It is a description of degrees of revelation and concealment. Each stage is less revealed, not further away.
This is the single most important correction to make before reading any cosmological diagram, including the ones on this site. A diagram must use space, because that is what diagrams have. The reality being diagrammed does not.
