אָדָם קַדְמוֹן
The Architecture of What Is
An order, a configuration, a blueprint of Divine light. Majestic, exact, and entirely impersonal.
The first configuration
Classical SourceAdam Kadmon is described as the first פַּרְצוּף — the first full configuration of light after the kav, and the origin of everything that follows. Before it, there is light and measure. With it, there is order.
This is the appearance of relation. Ten sefirot are not ten substances; they are ten ways in which one light stands toward what will receive it. That there are exactly ten, and that they stand in a fixed arrangement, is what makes a coherent world possible rather than an undifferentiated flood.
Igulim and yosher
Classical SourceTwo arrangements are described. עִגּוּלִים, circles, encompass: they surround a recipient without entering it, and they have no inherent hierarchy — a circle has no top.
יוֹשֶׁר, uprightness, is arranged as a structure with direction: head, body, limbs; higher and lower; giver and receiver; a face that turns toward.
The distinction matters for the rest of the site. Encompassing light is the ancestor of what will later be called סוֹבֵב; the upright arrangement is the ancestor of מְמַלֵּא, of internalised, measured vitality — and of relationship, which requires an orientation.
Architecture. Blueprint. Direction. Differentiation.
Or yashar
Chavah Kadmonah LensThe light of Adam Kadmon is אוֹר יָשָׁר, direct light: light as it proceeds from source toward recipient. It gives, defines, delimits and transmits.
It is worth saying clearly that this is not the whole circuit, and the tradition never claimed it was. Direct light describes the descent. It does not describe what the recipient does with it, and it does not describe the return.
The site treats that second movement as a full partner rather than an appendix. It is developed in the sections on or chozer and on the Chavah Kadmonah framework.
