Classical orientationTiferet is the harmonising centre: the exact proportion of Chesed and Gevurah in which each is given its due. It is associated with אֱמֶת, truth, because truth is what does not distort in either direction.
Chavah Kadmonah orientationThe second orientation reads Tiferet as רַחֲמִים, compassion — and notes that the word shares a root with רֶחֶם, womb. Compassion here is not leniency; it is the capacity to hold a whole life, including its contradictions, without breaking it into a verdict.

Classical SourceNarrative is the natural home of this station, because a story is the only form in which justice and compassion can be held together without one erasing the other.
A verdict states what someone did. A story states what someone did and what it cost, what preceded it, and what it might yet become. Neither is a lie. But only one of them can carry a life.
Tiferet is placed at the centre of the diagram for a reason. Everything above it is a principle; everything below it will have to be lived.
